Model 67 Winchester Bolt

I bought the correct bolt at a show and tried to install it and
it would not seat all the way in. It is like millimeters short so
it does not allow me to latch the bolt. I pulled the trigger so
I could install the bolt. It just isn't going forward enough.
Any suggestions?
