As I mentioned in my introduction, my father gave me a pretty clean Winchester 1887. He purchased it from a customer many years ago, but not knowing the gun, he hadn't fired it. It is clean and the action works good. The barrel looks dirty, and I intend to take it to a smith for a more professional eye to go over.
I'm not looking for value, per se, because I won't sell it. My dad entrusted it to me, and I won't break that. But, I am as curious as all get out about the gun, and ultimately, I'd love to shoot it.
The serial number is 16256. It is 12 gauge- I checked that.
I will get more photos, but time is short at the moment- I will attach the one photo that I have of it.
Behind it is the 94.

Gosh, that sure is perty! Lotta cowboys would break a green mustang for the likes of that.
Have the 'smith measure the choke on it too.. Thanks for sharing 44 |
