Two marksmen slug it out in the elimination challenge, using one of the most durable pistols on the planet.

The First Team Challenge involves both teams swinging from one elevated platform
to another over a 20-foot gap, then fire one shot at a set of 5 glass jugs from

First team to hit all 5 jugs wins.

"Trick Shot Shoot Off"

Premier Date: 3/27/2012

_________________________________________________________________________

Contestants take aim at bowling pins, bottle openers and other specialty targets in an episode full of dazzling trick shots. One team's quarreling over strategy translates to a poor performance at the team challenge. And after a controversial nomination range, two shooters must go head to head to avoid elimination.

_________________________________________________________________________

The First Team Challenge involves each shooter competing at one of 5 stations:

1.From 30 feet, fire the M1911 to drive a bowling pin backward through two others without knocking them down.

2.Shoot a bowling pin with the 1911 from 30 feet so that it travels diagonally back to knock over one of two others.

3.From 75 feet, fire the Volquartsen and hit a bottle opener so that it pops the cap off a soda bottle.

4.Hit the bottom bucket in a stack of two with the M1911 from 30 feet, knocking the top one into the air, then hit the top one before it reaches the ground.

5.Shoot at 4 gumballs from 35 feet with the Volquartsen, trying to knock them cleanly off their golf tees.

3 attempts at each of the first 4 stations; 1 point per successful shot. 4 attempts at station 5; 3 points per successful shot. Higher total score wins.

WINNER: RED Team

_________________________________________________________________________

The Nomination picks for the Elimination challenge from the BLUE
Team are: Dylan & William

__________________________________________________________________________

The Elimination event involves the contestants firing at separate racks of 10 bowling pins from 35 feet. The tops of the pins have been sawed off and set back on the bodies. They must use the Browning to shoot the tops off, then switch to the SIG to hit the bodies.

One point per target hit; no points awarded if a pin’s body is hit first. Higher score after 2 minutes wins.

I thought it was very educational as to how accurate one can be with those specific firearms.

I was impressed with the 10/22, but it is a little pricy for me.

EPISODE #8

"The Mad Minute"

Premier Date: 4/03/2012

_________________________________________________________________________

Top Shot Season One winner Iain Harrison returns to school the competitors in British weaponry. The team challenge introduces a surprising twist, and one team bands together to conquer the task. For the losing team, it's off to the elimination round where two shooters compete in a high-stress precision challenge.

The "mad minute" originated as a pre-World War I term used by British riflemen during training to describe scoring 15 hits onto a 12" round target at 300 yd within one minute using a bolt-action rifle. The term still exists in modern military parlance to describe any short period of intense weapons fire.

_________________________________________________________________________

The First Team Challenge involves shooting at separate moving grids of 30 targets from 35 feet. One player at a time per team, 6 shots per player. First team to hit all targets wins.

WINNER: RED Team

_________________________________________________________________________

The Nomination picks for the Elimination challenge from the BLUE Team are: Terry & Greg

__________________________________________________________________________

The Elimination Challenge involves firing at a 24” target from 200 yards. Higher number of hits in 60 seconds wins; ties are broken by fewer total rounds used.

I thought tonights showdown was one of the best episodes as far as the first challenge...

The M2a1 Half Track with a Browning M1919 mounted on top was awesome...and of all the things that Top Shot put the contestants through, including the rappeling tower...I would have liked to have done that the most...

Well, next week is the Season Four Finale...and the final four look like this:

Augie

Chris

Gary

Greg

The order above is how I think the contest will play out...

Tell me what you think the field will look like...the winner, and the order of the final three...
