Hello all,

I am new and have a quick question. I have just inherited a model 70 .300 Win Mag from my Grandfather whole recently passed away. It did not come with a magazine and I have never seen one like this.

Anyway I have never seen a magazine well set up like this one on a model 70? Does anyone out there have any ideas on what type this is and where I can get a magazine for it?

The magaine release seems to be towards the barrel end. I hope the picture can better describe the issue.

Thanks,
Mark

It looks like you have a DBM (detachable box magazine) Model 70. I don't think anyone is making them anymore but you might check with Winchester just in case. If no luck you could change the bottom metal out to make it a hinged floorplate model. Would also require the sheet metal magazine box as well. Probably run in the area of $200 or so.
