I have finished rebuilding two of my three derelict winchesters I got for $50 a piece. And need help with the sight height accusations.
For the first one its a 1894 rebarreled in 30-30 with a numrich octagon barrel. The measurements are
Front barrel .840
Rear barrel .840
I was going to go with a marbles full buckhorn sight with measurements of .300-.510.
So a front sight of .400?
Second I have a 1894 carbine. The measurements for this one are
Rear barrel .860
Front barrel .610
Marble bullseye sight of .430
Thing is this one has a ramp that's .230 high. The brownelles calculator says I need a sight height of .555. Do I order the ramp specific front sight that's .555 or a .320 high sight that combined with the .230 high ramp gets me around .550?
