My Dad was quite a waterfowl hunter. Not me though. But I inherited his beloved Winchester model 12 when he passed. He hunted with this gun more than most and he took great care of it.

He also used this gun for pheasant. He told of taking a pheasant at long range that fell miraculously from the sky. The autopsy revealed a single pellet had hit the neck and done him in. I tried his model 12 on pheasant this year for the first time. No miraculous results- 0 for 4... then switched to my Browning and redeemed myself.... the dog was giving me some looks.
