I just purchased an SXP Extreme Defender and plan to use 3" shells in it. The brochure says the Mag holds 5 rounds but I can only get 4 in it. Are they counting a shell in the chamber or do I need to remove the plug from the mag to get 5 rounds in it?

Yes it is rated for 2 3/4 and 3" shells. I am going to check to see if there is a plug installed but I didn't want to take it apart if there is no plug in it from the factory.

Hello gcain. Glad you came by. Much Winchester glory here. With 3" buck you can breach a residential door.
