Cleaning

Juust wondering how others clean the piston on the SX3. I want to soak it in something to give it a proper clean but dont want to damage it. I read some where that cheap Cola did the trick? Any advice would be appreciated. Also any shooters on hear from the UK and close to Bisley in Hampshire gget in touch if you fancy meeting up for a shoot.
