How looose can lever be?

Looking at a selection of "used but nice" 94's. How much "rattle" or how loose can the cocking lever be to be safe and acceptable for long term use? Is my 30 cal muzzle gauge a viable guide for use on a 30-30 Mod 94?

Only good answer on that question would be go with your gut feeling...if you "think" it's TOO loose, then it is.
