I'm a new owner of a 1973 Winchester 30-30 WCF. I curious about the trigger wiggle forward and back prior to shooting the round. Actually it's there even before I cock the hammer. Is this mormal. I thought I had a problem with the firing pin doing the same thing, but I found it has a "floating firing pin".
Any info on this? :geek:

My Model 1894 in .30WCF from 1977 also has a little play in the trigger...but it doesn't affect the function or accuracy of the rifle.

Have you fired your rifle yet...?

Did the wiggle cause any problem...?

Thanks SHOOTER13 for the come back.
No, I haven't had a chance to fire it yet. I did finally finish up reloading about 75 rounds for it. Good thing. No one around my area has them in stock.

interesting that no one in your area has .30-30 shells. They are usually one of the easiest cartridges to find.

What are you using in your hand loaded .30-30 cartridges?

My 1968 Mod 94 (.30-30 WIN) has a fair amount of play in the trigger too. I've noticed it on all of the ones that I've seen since I bought mine. Seems like that's the way they are built.

Back in Oct (2014) when I bought my Mod 94, the shelves at my local WalMart were awash with .30-30 WIN. 150 grain and 170 grain, a couple of different brands and priced between $17 & $23. The night before the gun deer season opened here in WI they pretty mach all disappeared! They are just now showing up back on the shelves.

I'm planning on doing some reloading but haven't done so yet.
