Late pre war Model 94

Hello all,
Here is another interesting late pre-war model 94 carbine in 30 WCF. Serial number 1293504 dates this to mid year 1942. Production started in 1942 with serial # 1287469. They only made 29,981 that year ending with serial number 1317450. No guns were made between 1942 and 1948. Production resumed in 1949. The gun has a period leather sling and sling attachment. The bluing has faded but still has the original finish on the stock and forearm. Thanks

Pre-War Model 94's seem to have a higher value than Post WW2 rifles, at least by collectors. I have several Model 94's made in the mid 1950's that are in good shape, shoot well too!

Probably because there are less of the pre-war rifles around. Sometimes they end up in closets, basements, garages, and rust away. Maybe folks back in those days didn't put too much value on them back then. I have several Pre 64's made in the mid 1950's and they're great shooters.

As they say "The don't make 'em like they use too". Those classic Winchesters were made of all forged steel, some of the older ones used nickel steel. Can you spell EXPENSIVE? My Pre 64s are solid as a rock and have tight tolerances. Put 170 grain Federal ammo in one and it kicks like my 300 WSM! The Model 94 weighs in a 6 1/2 lbs so the recoil can crack you!
