1894 curved buttplate correct ?

Can the correct Butt Plate type be of the curved type on a 1894 with a serial number 1101278?

Your rifle was manufactured in 1940, if you want to find out if it left the factory like that you might be able to call the cody firearms museum to see if there is any info available for it. Some pics might help as well.

A number of them came with a curved butt plate then. Still do today on the new 24" barrel sporter model.
I have talked to people who bought one. They were very impressed. Mine will be coming in 30-30. The Miroku Sporter have received very high marks. MSRP is $1,399 and are selling for between $1125 and $1,190. I finally decided that was good enough for me. Almost bought the short barrel version without the checkering. After talking to guys who are real veterans and have seen a number of both, I ordered the Sporter with the 24" barrel and checkering.
