Hey all,

I recently picked up an early Model 1894 chambered in 30 WCF (30-30) which has an odd serial number starting with "MX". The rifle also has an importer's mark. I was told by the vendor I got it from that the rifle had been owned by the Mexican government. Does anyone know if this is true, or have any other information? Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

The other possibility is the rifle was "Rebarreled" by Winchester for some reason.
