Ya know nothing is completely New this day and age ! The .44 Van Houten Super came tobe a Wild cat Before Marlin introduced the .444 in 1964. Van Houten used the 30-40
Krag Brass , I had no Idea this was was done in the late '50s very early '60s. Van Houten cut the brass down to 2''
and opened it to .44 .He used this in the Marlin 336 & 1894 Winchesters. Not sure of the loads he used in the .44VH
but this sure gave me some insight on my .44-56 Roll Eyes
It's a great feeling to know that it really does work well!!

found a guy to do my old 1894 octagon barrel ! we are going to make a 44-56 out of it!
going to speed up the twist to 1:18 rather than the 1:38 as in the 20'' barrel!
going for distance
with this 26'' barrel !!1 if that works out than we go to Green Mountain and get a custom 32'' barrel made
always fun to dream ..... but it all usually comes to be !!!! Ol Deuce
................
44-56
