I recently acquired a Model 94 manufactured in Jan 1909. It has a 26" octagon barrel with a flip up tang sight. I was shooting at a 25 yard pistol target set out at 100 yards. Of 15 founds fired 13 were in the black. I am extremely impressed with the accuracy of this rifle.

My question is did this model come with the tang sight from the factory. There is no rear sight where it would normally reside & a yellow substance is there instead of the normal rear sight.

Tang sight is probably owner added or special order.

Saturday I also picked up my new to me circa.1941 '94 .25-35 haven't shot it yet. It has a nice patina to it no pitting and the bore is at least very good. Someone refinished the stock with a gloss coat which is coming off immediately.
