I know 30 wcf is the " same" as 30-30... But is modern 30-30 ammunition the same as 30 wcf ammunition in regards to shooting them in an early 40's rifle?

I selected Winchester super X 170 gr power points for this rifle. The rifle is in very good condition but still, I figure it's worth asking. Can the older gun handle the newer ammo?

As long as your rifle is in good working order (checked by a gunsmith) I wouldn't have a worry in the world about running current factory offerings in it.

1940's rifles were made as well as anything current. In my opinion, the rifles to take extra caution with are those that are old enough to be likely to have had alot of black powder loads run in them. Not some much for manufacturing technique but the effects of black powder on the bore if not well cared for.
