Sorry for the screw up. I posted in the wrong area before. I have a G series Model 70 with a flat breech 26" heavy barrel. I just acquired an FN 24" fluted barrel with 1" 16 threads. Will this work? I like the idea of a fluted barrel and I understand the barrels are made at the same factory in SC. Any thoughts?

The FN barrel may be a control round feed and probably has a cut out for an extractor and a coned breech.

You appear to have a pushfeed action do you?

I'm sure any good smith could machine the extractor cut flatten the breech and add a few more threads. not sure if he would have to cut the threads and redo them. Both barrels would be 1 inch shank with 16 TPI.

Someone with more experience in this area may be able to help.

Cheers
