Hi,
I'm a new member and just bought a model 70 today that I'm having problems identifying. The rifle looks like a International Army Match Rifle, but is chambered in 30-06. It has the serial number dating it at 1967, four years before the IAMR lists being manufactured in my books. The previous owner is supposed to be dropping off the original box in the next couple of days. He claims the rifle is unfired, and it looks unfired. Any help would be appreciated.

The Model 70 International Match Rifle and the Ultra Match Rifle were offered in 308 and 30-06 with 26" barrels.

The Model 70 International Army Match had a vertically adjustable butt plate with a 24" barrel and was offered in 308 with a forearm rail and military oil finish.
