Winchester 70 featherweight in 223 rem

I have a Winchester featherweight in 223 Remington, but I haven't seen any others. Any idea how many were made in 223 Remington? The serial on my gun is G1933XXX. Any additional info would be appreciated.

My reference books do not give any totals for that particular rifle in that particular caliber...

I wouldn't go that far...just not something you see everyday because of the proliferation of other platforms chambered for that cartridge...

AR-15's comes to mind...Ruger Mini-14's...etc

I have a 1974 model 70 standard, its chambered in .222 rem and have never seen another like it either.

I found a Featherweight in 223 at Cabelas. I had a hard time walking away from it as it looked almost new and was $425.

Can never have too many small bores but my safe is full

Winchester should be making more Models 70 FWT in lighter calibers. That is the concensus of buyers in places like Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine

In 1989 Serial #s started at G1893903

In 1990 Serial #s started at G1950701

The single greatest NEED in calibers for the Model 70Featherweight is the .223 Remington. Not one single cartidge addition would get more added sales! I would order TWO!
