I have a chance to buy a pre 64 model 70 super grade in 300 H&H. barrel looks to be in good shape except at muzzle, bluing worn. Is it even possible to touch it up properly and not change the value. Hate to even ask the question being somewhat of a purist but the rifle is really nice. Or should I just leave it alone.

If it's a Pre-64 as you say...leave it alone as far as value to the rifle.

If you're not worried about that and it's a keeper / shooter...then by all means do a cold blue on it.

If this is an investment and you want a good return on it later, leave it original. There aren't many 300 H&H model 70's left that are unaltered, they fetch a good dollar even with a few minor flaws if in original condition. Once you mess with it, you can't go back.
