In the new production model 70 do you have to put a single round in the magazine for it to feed,or can you put in like the push feed model. I have had rifles in that past that you had to push a single round into the magazine..
I am thinking about buy a new model 70 Super Grade in 270. Thank you

I am not sure about that,I always load a single round in mine as a precaution, I saw nothing in the owner's manual about it one way or another. Also it is what I'm use to doing anyway. I also do that with my Ruger 77 which I believe is unnecessary. If you haven't yet bought it, do so you won't be sorry.
