I always tell folks I'm from the North WET, but this summer has been the nicest driest summer I've seen in the 18 years I've been here. Summers are usually very nice here though.
I'm currently the owner of a model 1300 Defender. I'd like to see how I might expand it's use with a bird barrel. I might also pick up a Winchester lever action some day.

Welcome pilgrim.....my area in Louisiana received your rain. The wetest summer in twenty-years. Our grass never browned and I mowed more than ever.
