Hello from Tn. or wherever I am at at the moment
I have been a long time Winchester fan. My grandfather passed his 1967 model 70 down to me and been hooked on them since. I am a truck driver so I do not get to hunt as much as I used to but the first week of deer season you can always find my truck parked and me in the woods somewhere. Traveling the way I do though has its advantages though sometimes. Last year while out west I was looking for a scope for a new rifle I found a add for a vintage Redfield scope. The kicker was it was mounted on a 1949 model 70 with a custom Mannlicher stock. I have a post about it on the model 70 sub forum asking if anyone has seen similar. I am thinking of selling it and buying a shotgun for the upcoming bear season. Last year I used my 30-06 model 70 with some 220 grain cor-locs. But gonna let one of my sons use it this year and try out a shotgun with the Dixie 2oz. slugs. Thanks for providing this forum and I am sure I will be reading it allot now that I found it.
