Newbie winchester fan

Recently got my section 2 SGC and picked up a 28" SX3 synthetic stock and a select sporting 2 with 30" barrels and absolutely love them.
I use the SX3 mainly for rough shooting and the o/u for clays.
I strip and clean regular have used around 500 rounds in each.
Any advice would be welcome as the only concern I have is the select is very stiff on the lever and on breaking the barrel. It requires a fair bit of effort to break and relock together.
Is this normal, and will it improve?
