Good morning all. I am new to this forum & am from south Louisiana. I own a 1st generation Winchester 101 field grade 12ga magnum. The only hunting that I do is for duck's. I look forward to exploring this site & learning more about Winchester gun's in particular the 101.

Hey LA.. What year is your 101? Aint got one yet myself but it on my bucket list. How does she handle steel shot? Does the choke act diff?

My gun was made in 1968. It had full & full fixed choke's. I had the barrel's reamed out to modified. It handle's steel shot with no problem's. I have been shooting it with steel shot for around 10 year's.

Well Larry, sounds like a great O/U..I've got my citori, marlin 90 and several SxS but lookin for a 24 and a 101 to round it all out.If I ever win the lottery a 21.. it's only a dream currently. When you had it reamed did you think about getting it tapped for chokes? Pics of your 101 would be lovely.
