Hi guys!

New from SA and a huge Winchester fan. I hunt with a 1947 Model 70 "carbine" in 7x57 and shoot anything from Duiker (Dog size) up to Eland (Cattle size).

I am trying to find info on how many model 70 "carbines" were ever built?

Welcome to the forum.

According to Roger Rule on page 85 of his Model 70 book a total of 7,197 pre 64 carbines were produced. On page 100 he indicates only 1,470 7MM rifles were produced in all configurations. You have quite a rarity there for sure. The only carbine chambering more rare than yours is the .35 Remington.

Thanks guys!

As soon as I use my other computer I will post some pictures. After all these years it still shoots 0.8 to 0.9 MOA!
