I am a life long shooter (since 1960) and have owned a good variety of rifles and handguns. My very first rifle, given to me by my father when I was in Junior High, was a Winchester Model 94. I just bought a Model 94AE with the cross lot safety. It is a beautiful carbine that I had CeraKoted. I am looking forward to learning from the knowledgeable 94 owners.

I love to walk the hills and, when possible, watch the hills come alive with the dawn. I hunt Coyote and will pick off a ground squirrel on occasion. Don't eat red meat anymore, so I leave the rabbits alone these days.

Glad you joined us DawnGazer. Nice to have guns passed on from family lineage. I have my late Dad's 2 guns. What is the YOM of the lineage 94?

I did not mean to suggest that I still have the old 94 that my dad gave me. It was a '50 something with 24 inch barrel, as I recall. I could shoot with open sights in those days. Unfortunately, I traded with my brother for a sports fixed Enfield that was chambered for .308 Norma Magnum. It too was a great rifle, but I long since sold that one too. Not much into the magnum thing anymore.

The 50s were good years for Winchester. I prefer pre-64s.
