My Names Nathan. I own a "few" guns. Only Winchester I have at the moment is an M1 Carbine. I'm desperately looking for a model 1894 in .357 Magnum. I definitely think a Winchester is the original and classic lever gun.

Hello Grunt, after humping the Garand, BAR, 80mm mortar, .50 cal machine gun. And the M14 for a short spell, I bought my own carbine as I was never allowed to carry a carbine during my grunt years. The M1 Garand is a fine combat weapon. However, I have no desire to own a M1 Garand.

M16's were like toting a toy gun around...opps that is weapon! This is my weapon this is my gun, this is for killing and this is for fun! Did hump the pig the M60, The SAW, and the 90mm Recoilless Rifle, and of course the m16/M203.

I never of course had experience with the M1, although other than history of it of course. Patton's favorite and most notable battlefield implement as he referred to it in his own words.

My experience, the Number 1 on my list was the M14, next would be the Pig the M60, and then the M2! These were beyond a doubt the best tools and Infantryman had at his disposal. Lot's of folks ask if I were in from 83-93 how did I carry an M14. Well, because the unit I was assigned to, yes those 10 years were all active duty, but this unit we were assigned M14's for ceremonial use and in the field...it was our primary weapon.

I forgot to mention the 106 recoilless I humped. Death from both ends. We had 4 ONTOS tank killers in our anti-tank company. Each ONTOS carried 6 106 rifles. Don't know the reason they were inventoried as rifles. More like long-barrel cannons.

Red ryder those 106's, including the 90 recoiless rifle...never did understand why they considered them in rifle class either! I know this big, bulky, heavy, and carrying rounds was a "you know what" as well!
