Hey All!
Looking forward to tapping into the knowledge base here. Hunting is my first and foremost passion with collecting rifles but I recently took out this old 1894 family hand down and finished off a half box of the old Dominion 38-55 cartridges.

Shot surprisingly well and a good part of me wants to take it apart, gentle wipe down with some fine steel wool & oil and chase late season whitetail with it..... I reload, so have brass, dies & some cast 255gr Lazermarks so should be able to cook up a mild but effective recipe. Serial # just over the 11K range, tried to attach a pic to no avail....

Cheers,
D.K.

Hello dak47, glad you joined us. A good way to learn the works of an unfamiliar gun is disassembling and reassembling. A how-to pictorial or video might spare you unneeded stress with both procedures.
