Here's a pic of my sole Beretta...bought used in 2003 from a friend who decided on something different two weeks later, and sold it to me at a loss for $300.
It's a 9000S series... a polymer framed design that retains traditional open top slide styling with modern materials in 9x19, and is a Type F ( double and single action operation and firing pin block safety, and external frame-mounted manual safety/decocking latches ). This firearm is unique in the Beretta line as it can be carried "cocked and locked". Included were two 12 round magazines, a Beretta cable lock, and original plastic carry case. It's modern looks can be traced to a legendary Italian race car ( Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo ) designer...Giorgetto Giugiaro It is also a movie star...having been used by the Tom Cruise character in Minority Report. How d'you like that 9000 SHOOTER?
I know the model didn't stick around very long, but I see them around every once in a while. "We live in a society of wolves. You do not fight back by creating more sheep."

Short lived...yea...but a Beretta for $300 I could not pass up !!
Most of my collection ( 75% ) was obtained from people who would impulse buy then decide later...with me being the winner in the deal. Right spot...right time !! |

That's how I ended up with three of my Berettas, both 92 Compacts and the 92 Vertec...

Awesome addition...where do you find all these bargains...Gunshow or local gun shop !?
|
|
Thanks Shooter,
I've found all of these but one at my LGS, the Compact Type M was found at another local shop. The Italian 92, Tomcat, and Bobcat I bought new and the rest came into the shop on trade from local owners. It never ceases to amaze me what folks are willing to give up, but it works out for me. I usually stop in at least every other day, so not much comes in or out of the store without me knowing. The shop owner knows my interests all to well and never hesitates to call when something unique shows up... "We live in a society of wolves. You do not fight back by creating more sheep."

Thanks SHOOTER!
The Berettas are pretty camera friendly. I recently lucked up on that 950bs Minx .22 short. It was one of a few made for Beretta in '78 by Firearms International in their Accokeek, MD factory right before they were bought out and set up as Beretta U.S.A. Just one of those cool variants that's always good for conversation... "We live in a society of wolves. You do not fight back by creating more sheep."
