I recently bought an old Colt Mdl 1877, "Thunderer", and ordered a Letter of Authenticity. The letter finally came in saying that my pistol was shipped out on August 10, 1882, as part of a shipment of 25 pistols to none other than "Winchester Repeating Arms Company, New Haven, Connecticut". So, as we say around my part of Texas, "How come?"
