I am looking for your suggestions/recommendations on a great matching scope for a M70 Jack o Connor tribute. Would like it to cover deer, goats, pigs, from scrub to 200/250m. Looking to complement the rifle look as much as possible, while remaining tough and as light as possible with a simple Plex reticle.

I have a Leupold fixed 4 power on mine. Can’t get simpler and uncluttered than that. Looks great. Besides, that’s what Jack used! If I had decided I had to have a variable, I’m my opinion there isn’t a better, well proportioned scope for a hunting rifle than a Leupold 2.5-8 power.

Welcome to this forum, participate and enjoy. I have Lyman All American 4X Perma center on several of my M70s (pre'64) on my newer M70s Leupold VXll 2X7 as they closely match the appearance of the good old 4X s so my vote would be for the Leupold either 2X7 or the 2.5X8 although the 3X9 X 40 mm in blue would be "period correct" also.
