No stripper clip bracket for 30-06?

Correct me if I am wrong, but reloading the 1895 is not something one would call fast unless you refer to the Russian specced ones, which allowed you to slap the Nagant Mosin stripper clip and go to town. Now, around that period the US Army had perfectly fine 30-06 military bolt action rifles which could be fed with equally perfectly fine stripper clips. Why didn't Winchester make brackets to accept the 30-06 stripper clip? Were they afraid if those ended up in the civilian market they would be *assault weapons* or something like that?

Me neither. AFAIK, Roosevelt's Rough Riders supposedly used them in Cuba. I just cannot picture someone trying to reload it while not only being shot at, but being shot at by Mausers from way over there and which took like 5 seconds to reload.

Mr. Garand had the right idea with his M1 clip. There were limited concerns with the empty clip ejection noise. However, loading a fresh clip did not allow much space for the nearby enemy to react and gain a shot advantage. My personal experience.
