Are some particular versions across the lineup more desirable than others? I see pricing that varies depending on options like a solid rib vs. vent rib and other factors. Skeet models also seem to have higher asking prices. Of course, those that are in better condition command a higher price than those that are not. How about the size of the shell? Are the 12 gauge models more desirable than the 20's? The few 28 gauge versions I see have a very high asking price compared to the other two.

What about compared to the Model 42's? All things equal, do the 42's command a higher price than the 12's?

Which are more desirable? I would assume this would also dictate asking / sale prices.

From what I saw, the Model 12 in 28g is quite rare. My grandfather had a bunch of old model 12's, 42's & 70's. We finally acquired part of the collection. I remembered shooting pump action 28's.

Unfortunately they were Remington Wingmasters from the 60's. Nice but no Model 12's.
