I have a Winchester Model 21 that I thought was original engraving but with looking up the serial number it looks as if this gun was just a plain jane to start. But now with a better understanding of the process of original engravings versus Model 21's that were sent to the custom shop I am starting to get somewhere of in regards to the originality and the end goal of knowing the value.
My intentions are to figure out the details of this gun to eventually sell. Any help is greatly appreciated. One of the pictures shows what appears to be the engravers initials, JLS. I believe this was Jasper Salerno work who was a factory engraver for Winchester. I am now in contact with Pauline Muerrle, maybe she will chime in here also.
The approximate value and any info or discussion about this shotgun would be greatly appreciated.
Model 21 Engraved worth ?
