Built in 1925. How many different chamberings were offered? Were all the Model 55's of that era solid frame or were they offered in "take down"?

MMCSRET,
I don't know what chamberings they were offered in other than the 30-30 as I have a TD model 55 with a pistol grip stock in that caliber..
I bought it about 6 years ago and it has been in storage ever since..
I hope to have enough time to get it out this coming summer and do some load development and maybe even hunt with it..
The fellow I bought it from had another low serial numbered 55 TD straight stock for sale..
Wish I had bought it also the prices on these rifles have really gone up..

Yes, they are highly sought after and not often seen on the local market/gun show. I know of only two that have changed hands in my area in the last 10 years, I missed both of them!!!

Thank you!! I was wondering about 32-40 but it was kind of late for that chambering and I wondered about 38-55. Thanks again.

The Winchester Model 55 is the only Winchester that is rarer in the solid frame than the take down frame.
