Winchester Model 70 Custom Stocks
BOYDS' Classic Winchester® Model 70 http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Classic-Replacement-Stocks-Winchester-Model-70-s/20.htm BOYDS' Classic Informational Video The Boyds' Classic is a compilation of the design elements we have found to be the most elegant and user friendly examples of the classic style. The slender, somewhat open grip is well defined, but does not extend too far below the toe line. The comb is parallel to the bore, which aids in scope use, and because of its straight-line design, minimizes cheek slap under recoil. Additional facial support is provided by a graceful cheekpiece that blends perfectly with the overall shape of the buttstock. The forend is flat/oval in cross-section, and is proportioned to complement barrels of 22-26" in length. It must be noted that due to the variations among models and tolerances that factories may or may not routinely adhere to, some minor fitting may be required even on our fully finished drop in parts to achieve that perfect fit to your action, although seldom, you must be willing to make these changes if necessary. Please read through the READ PRIOR TO ORDERING information to confirm the stock you are ordering is the correct one for your firearm. Please Note: The Winchester® Model 70 stock is made for the POST-64 Model 70 with the Hinged Floor Plate. All early Winchester® Model 70 POST-64 actions were based on the long action receiver measuring 7 9/16". Production of the short action receiver started in 1984-85 measuring 7 1/8". Please check center to center on your trigger guard screws to insure proper stock is being ordered. |

Talley Winchester Model 70 Scope Mount - 93x702
http://www.mackspw.com/Item--i-TAL93702 Talley Winchester Model 70 Scope Mount - 93x702 The one-piece construction of the Talley Lightweight Alloy Scope Mount is unique. The rigid design has no joint between the scope and the rifle. The Talley Lightweight unitized design eliminates the possibility of an out of alignment interface or loose connection between the ring and base of traditional two-piece designs. Ultimately this provides more strength and durability than rival steel rings and bases but doing it with a lighter overall weight. The Talley Winchester 1 inch Model 70 (.860) mount is for standard caliber and short mag (Low). |

I recently acquire two Model 70's. One is the recently defunct stainless Alaskan with the laminated stock in .338 WM, the other is a Model 70 classic stainless in .375 H&H.
I really like the laminate stock on the Alaskan and wondered if anyone knows who produced those stocks and/or where I could find one to fit the stainless classic in .375? Thanks. |
