Winchester Model 9422, Traditional

The Model 9422 Traditional is not only one of the most popular rimfire rifles ever, but is meant to be an heirloom passed on to the next generation. Naturally, this rifle has become the standard of comparison for every 22 lever action in the world. One look and you'll see why. The resemblance of this rifle to the centerfire Model 94 adds to its appeal. Plus, features like the beautiful straight grip walnut stock and forearm with cut checkering, removable front sight hood and hammer extension (for use with a scope) add additional value. Choose from 22 Long Rifle or 22 WMR.

Winchester 9422's, were built to be a .22 for the 94 fans. From what I have seen, this Winchester is actually better made than the 94's were, which may explain its value.
Yesterday, I lucked into the proverbial, deal of a lifetime. While, I was in search of my stolen Browning Sweet Sixteen (1959 vintage) and Winchester Model 25, with upgraded AA wood and a simmons rib, cruising the local pawn shops, I eyed a little lever action rifle sitting in the corner. As I looked closer, I could quickly tell it was a Winchester 9422. I quickly asked the clerk, "can I see that"??? The clerk handed me a Winchester 9422 XTR, .22 lr., in virtually mint condition... I scanned for the price tag thinking ok, this has to be $1,000.00 or more but, No, I could barely believe it, the tag read $124.95! I quickly yelled SOLD, and bought this little Gem. Once in a lifetime, that's all I can say.
