Does anyone know why the silvertip ammo is no longer produced?

Just bought some last month. Very disappointing. Are you sure?

I see on line they make a ballistic silver(Polymer) tip for the 30/30, 150 grain only. It is not the jacketed type as made in the past. I have looked in many stores, and no one has them

I believe you are correct.A very sad day to see the end of the old style Silvertip.

Perhaps the ammo is not effective and only few bought the product.

Silvertip ammunition was manufactured for many, many years and there are lots of people who swear by it.Myself included. My guess is that it was becoming more expensive to manufacture, so it is being dropped in favour of less expensive to manufacture styles. |
Glad I have a few thousand rounds of WST stockpiled...

Damn. I really would like to try some of the original Silvertips in both my .270 and .338. Maybe somewhere I will run across some.
