That is in NORTH California. I am a Winchester nut by birth, having inherited the malady from my dad. Have owned and been shooting Winnies from the tender age of eight when I was given my first rifle, a Model 60 that the ol ' man cut down to fit me....That was 52 years ago so that makes more than a half century love affair with the brand...lol
Have quite a few in the cabinet including models 12, 54, 60, 70 and 94...

Yes, by far a M70 .270 that Townie Whelen had on order for himself that he graciously let my dad buy when he got out of WW2 PTO service. Cost him $64.50 as I recall... |

Only have one anymore Pauline, a 40's era (I think) 16 ga that was dad's. Nothing fancy, a full choke field model that he installed a peep sight on for slug shooting!

Yes I can well understand that being your favourite.Great story to go with the rifle. $64.50 was a fair bit of coin back in 1945.I wonder what that would work out to in 2014 dollars. |

Well, the peep certainly raises a few eyebrows around a trap shoot!  Dad used it to hunt deer back in PA and always claimed he could get 6" groups at 75 yds with it... Maybe so. I've never benchrested it to find out!  Will try and figure out how to post a photo with this "dumbphone"...(in MY hands...) |
